FAQ- Nom de Theatre

We get some questions more often than others. This is one of the big ones.

What’s a Starsparkle Superconductor?

Well, this is a starsprinkle-

Rainbow Brite- space boots and short skirt

Children of the 1980’s know this face. She brings color to an otherwise drab world. Appropriate? Yessss. A horse that runs on rainbows and a horde of furry minions? Double Yesssss.

This is a perfectly normal situation.

A supercollider is a machine that sends tiny particles of matter zooming around in tubes and makes them crash together. Physicists are there to collect all the bits that fly off. It’s science!

The Large Hadron Collider- so big they have to use silly modes of transportation to get around.

You combine those bits of bright color and happiness that make up starsprinkes with particle physics and you get Starpickles Supercorroder. It’s that easy!

Look for future FAQ's where we tackle questions like "how'd you do that?" and "what's that made of?".

SPIRALS: Nature's Most Awesomest Shape

The Pinwheel Galaxy

There is something about spirals that cause a major amount of squeeeee in my brain, and the fact that they occur naturally is icing on the amazeballs cake.

"Don't mind me, I'm just growing some Fibonacci."

Everything's Coming Up Starsprinkles

Some awesome things are happening!

The lovely people at Pendlebury Hair Studio have been gracious enough to display and sell some Starsprinkle jewelry. If you need some new hair-dos or want to take a gander at their jewelry display, you should stop in to Pendlebury and say "hi".

This Saturday, April 7th, is the last springtime Bloomington Handmade Market. Ever! And we will be there! Among all the other great vendors, Starsprinkle Supercollider will have a table full of fun and fancy stuff. We've made lots of new things; some cute, some sophisticated, but mostly somewhere in between. We hope to see lots of new faces on Saturday and maybe a few we haven't seen in a while.

Some of you might be curious as to what this Starsprinkle Supercollider thing is all about, so I'll leave you with the best explanation I can come up with...

Later, 2011...

Welcome to all you new friends!

If you couldn't tell, we're new to this blog thing so it might be a little hectic around here for a while. From time to time, we'll trade off blog duties so it won't always be my tiny voice yelling into the interwebs, but hopefully it will always be worth reading. We hope that you stick with us through the newness, and feel free to make yourselves heard when you want to.

I feel the new year is going to be interesting, to say the least! We participated in our first craft show here in Bloomington, and it was so much more fun than we could have hoped! So we'll hopefully be out and about in the spring, stretching our legs and seeing what kind of crazy traveling we can handle. We'll keep you posted on the whens and wheres and we hope you'll let us know what you think of the new stuff we've been making between now and then.

We'll have new pictures up and our Etsy store should be full again soon since there's always a good reason to buy some one else (or yourself!) a sweet little gift to brighten their day. In the mean time, we hope you all had an enjoyable holiday and that you bring in the new year with a bang! SS hopes you can start January with a clean slate, a fresh, positive attitude, and the things you love all around you. That's what we're shooting for! :)

Till next time...

peace, love and starsprinkles! :D

I'd like some glitter on my big girl boots, thank you!

So you may have noticed a few changes around here. I've decided that this year is the year for focus. I tend to be pretty flighty when it comes to most things in life, and it's served me pretty well till now. But with this massive semester I've got looming ahead and a never-ending desire to craft out the things in my head, I'm going to need some structure and focus blended in to this crafty soup of stuff I like to call my life. Plus the 9 month vacation I took from the real world to (poorly) organize the details involved with our joyous wedding day and honeymoon is over, and it's time for me to get my head out of orbit around earth and at least back down into the stratosphere. The BR is totally in on the scheme, and will be helping when possible with design tidbits and composition advice. So far in my life I've been ok with the idea that "one day" I'll be able to make my stuffs and it be cost effective and maybe even *gasp* profitable. But it's not going to happen on its own, and sitting on my ever-comfortable rump is only slowing things down. So this semester, this year I'm buckling up my big girl boots and setting off for adventures in bigger waters than I've ever braved before. Focus, organization, and attempting for once to believe that I'm capable of fabulously accomplishing whatever I want. Those things tend to be in short supply in this thing I carry around on my shoulders. So I'm stocking up, using them wisely, and reporting here about it each step of the way- my first big step towards the organized part. So I encourage anyone that cares to read to give as much feedback as you want. I can always use some fresh eyes and I respect every single pair that might stare at this page. And I know that if you've got something to say, it'll totally be worth reading.

I really believe making life better for others is the only way to truly be worthy of your place in this world, and that includes all living things. So in all of my efforts this year to advance my own career, marriage, and relationships with the friends I never have time to see, I vow to keep this my main goal. And I know that art done in the right way can accomplish this for a good portion of the human population, at least. The specific goals involving the rest of the animal and plant populations will come in the next few posts, along with details from the never ending search for my wings.

namaste.
